Continuous heavy rainfall across Odisha has severely disrupted normal life in several districts, triggering widespread damage to infrastructure, road blockages, and waterlogging in both urban and rural areas. The incessant downpour has caused significant hardship for residents as multiple regions report deteriorating conditions.

In Cuttack district, a newly constructed six-lane road at Bhuasuni Gada has partially caved in due to the impact of relentless rains. A side wall along the road has also collapsed, with nearly 100 metres of the newly built stretch reportedly damaged. The incident has raised concerns over the structural stability of recently completed infrastructure in the region.

In Malkangiri, heavy rainfall has worsened conditions in several areas. Large boulders have fallen onto roads, completely blocking vehicular movement for extended periods. The Kalimela block’s mountain road connecting Manyamkonda and Gunthabeda has been severely affected, bringing transportation to a standstill and causing major disruption to daily movement.

Similarly, in Subarnapur district’s Binika town, continuous rainfall for the past two days has led to widespread waterlogging. Several areas in the town are submerged, forcing residents to wade through knee-deep water to carry out daily activities.

In Koraput district, particularly in the Lamtaput block, persistent rainfall has thrown normal life out of gear. Trees have been uprooted in multiple locations, blocking roads and restricting movement. Several electric poles have also been bent or damaged, leading to disruptions in power supply in affected areas.
