The minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, who is also the mentor minister for District Ramban, on Monday reviewed the overall developmental scenario of the district, with special emphasis on agriculture, horticulture, rural development, cooperatives and implementation of flagship welfare schemes.

The Minister chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Ramban. The meeting was attended by MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju, MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, senior district administration officers and heads of various departments.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner presented a detailed overview of the district’s developmental profile and progress achieved under various government schemes and programmes. The review covered key sectors including Rural Development, PMAY-G, MGNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Cooperatives, Health, Education, Social Welfare, PMGSY and Public Works Department.

Emphasising the need for timely completion of ongoing projects, the Minister directed officers to ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes and to guarantee that benefits reach people at the grassroots level. He stressed the importance of maintaining close public outreach and adopting a result-oriented approach to address developmental needs and public grievances.

On the occasion, the Minister e-inaugurated several developmental projects across the district. These included a Honey Processing Unit at Sanglab Valley Honey Producing Company Ltd., established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Apple Mother Blocks at Government Fruit Plant Nurseries in Batote and Gool, besides a number of rural development infrastructure projects.

Among the newly inaugurated facilities were the Block Development Council (BDC) Building at Khari, Panchayat Ghars at Gund Tethar, Asher, Sujmatna-C, Chamalwas Upper and Bheri Neghal, Community Halls at Neera and Balihote-A, and Foot Bridges at Ganai Gharat and Billawat.

The Minister also inaugurated the Cooperative Super Bazaar Ramban, describing it as a significant initiative aimed at strengthening cooperative institutions and improving consumer services in the district.

The review meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to accelerating development, enhancing public service delivery and ensuring effective implementation of welfare programmes across Ramban district.
