The Office of Dean Alumni & International Affairs at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar successfully conducted a high-profile seminar titled "The Power Sector in India".

With special reference to Jammu and Kashmir  today at the campus venue Hi-Tech 5. The event was organized to bridge gap between  academic engineering curricula with real-world sector operations.

The seminar cantered on pressing themes within the national energy matrix, focusing on sustainable development, loss minimization, workforce adequacy, and systemic challenges, with a highly specialized structural emphasis placed on the performance and framework of the Jammu & Kashmir power system.

The technical session featured extensive presentations by two renowned industry veterans. Prominent power engineer and Vice Chairman of the All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF), Engineer Pirzada Hidayatullah, delivered a comprehensive address detailing grassroots policy execution and infrastructure management.

He was accompanied by Er K. Ashok Rao, an eminent postgraduate engineer trained in advanced management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, who provided deep strategic insights into administrative engineering and strategic workforce reforms.

A special highlight of the event was the formal felicitation of famous television personality Azhar Hajini, who was honored by the institute for his commendable and sustained efforts in raising public awareness about the engineering sector. His dedicated coverage, particularly focusing on electrical engineering and highlighting diverse career possibilities through various high-impact shows and events, was highly applauded by the academic and engineering fraternity.

In a further gesture of professional collaboration, the Executive Council of the Jammu & Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) was also presented with official certificates from NIT Srinagar in recognition of their institutional contributions.

The entire program, coordinated seamlessly by Mr N a Shah ,Dean Academic and International Affairs. Dr HS Pali and Dr Dinesh Kumar R, saw heavy participation from faculty members, research scholars, and technology students, all of whom are being issued official digital E-Certifications to mark the successful completion of this landmark academic seminar.
