Assailants kill youth by slitting his throat with beer bottle in Odisha’s Boudh
A youth was allegedly murdered in a gruesome manner by unidentified assailants in Odisha's Boudh district, police said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Kapil Nayak, a resident of Rishibandh village under Manamunda police limits in the district.
According to preliminary information, Nayak had reportedly engaged in a heated argument with a group of youths at a fast-food stall near the Mahuli-Digi road junction late on Friday night.
The altercation took a violent turn when the miscreants allegedly attacked Nayak with a wooden plank and later slit his throat using a broken beer bottle.
The assailants then allegedly smashed his head with a stone, killing him on the spot, sources added.
Locals discovered the blood-soaked body lying near the eatery on Saturday morning and immediately informed the victim's family members and the police.
On being informed about the incident, a team from Manamunda police station immediately rushed to the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder and identify those involved in the brutal killing.
While the motive behind the crime is yet to be established, further investigation is underway.
